A massive tank filled with syrup burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that crashed through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, reaching heights 25 feet in some areas, was devastating. Buildings were flattened under the power of the treacherous goo.
The aftermath was grim. Twenty-one people lost their lives, and many more suffered injuries. The flood also caused ruin to property, leaving a trail of sticky residue in its wake.
